My name is Bobby Seal and I’m a freelance writer, poet and psychogeographer.

My passion is walking and exploring the unloved margins of our towns and cities.  For me, this exploration is an imaginative process and not just a material one.  I have created this blog to share my passion.

I’d love to hear from you, discuss with you and link with your work.  Why not email me.

    Hello,
This is Michela and I am a follower of your blog.
I made a project “Through the Window” and I would love if it gets picked up by you
Here is the link and a brief introduction.
let me know what you think.

    “Through the Window”

“Through the Window” is a pshycogeography project, that investigates urban landscaping and the effect on emotions and behaviour of individuals, it’s the result of a personal experience, living close to the Brixton Prison, on Jebb Avenue.
The Apartments where guardians used to live surround the building and during the last decade few of them have been sold to private and rent out to people, like me.
This miscellaneous of life conditions, has made me wonder about the relationship between the building where I live and the building where prisoners live.
The buildings are really close to each other that you can hear the prisoner’s voices from inside the flats.
The pictures and the sounds for this project have been recorded from my apartment from May 2011 to September 2012

    Many Thanks
    M

Hi Bobby. I follow your blog by email, with particular interest for the more literary pieces. My latest post is a quasi- prose poem with themes of place, memory, and foreclosure. It’d be an honor if you had a look.

How do you know when thoughts you have or writing you do is informed by psychogeography? I’ve been researching for around 18 months now, and recently wrote an account of a walk around my hometown. I’m not sure if it’s psychogeography or not, or maybe it’s not translated well? As it’s a walk to Hilbre Island, you may be interested to read it regardless.
